  7. I was never of the Bobby Knight theory that you should never challenge a jump shot ( he felt it would just draw a foul) but Pitt seems to be. FD shot after shot goes unchallenged. Hard to watch.
    FD press is so easy to beat .. just post a big man at half court.

  9. haha…as the color announcer is saying Pitt is playing solid defense(which they arent)….guy blows past the Pitt player for an easy layup and then they get 2 offensive rebounds…comical

  11. And I and you shouldn’t care what Capel did at Oklahoma…13 YEARS AGO. He had Blake Griffin deposited in his lap since his brother was already at Oklahoma. Has nothing whatsoever to do with his coaching ability.

  20. I have never seen such selfish undisciplined basketball in my life.
    Driving 1 on 4, throwing up off balance 3 pointers right and left never waiting for a rebounding presence underneath, no look passes to no one in general and turnovers galore. Not even good street ball! This team is horrible!!

  22. Just so tough to watch this team with Nelly, Hinson and Elliott and the things they do on the court. Bad passes, shot selection, selfish play.

    Boy do I hope Dior gets off on December 7th and he’s reinstated. Plug Guerrero at power forward with Hugley at center.

    1. Capel has shown he doesn’t haven’t the ability to mold a team, so I doubt Dior or anybody else….would make much of difference. Remember he had a Top 25 class the other year.
      Time for them to pull the plug on this disaster. Worst Pitt HC EVER !

  24. I’d rather have both Diaz’s in…..then Elliot….who is totally useless, he’s wide open. Does not do anything else. Plus the Diaz’s have UPSIDE…..Elliot not so much

  25. Pitt much better when Burton is running things….and he can finish or dish at the rim.
    Probably the only Guard we have..that can….consistently or at least has a fleeting chance of doing that.

  30. I will say this, Dior Johnson is the best high school point guard I’ve ever seen … on tape. If he comes aboard, he will help immensely.
    From what my AAU retired connections tell me, the girl has quite the past including a rap sheet and several similar incidents. I predict he gets off with misdemeanor.

  32. wow …these announcers are delusional…..Capel is not a PROVEN WINNER.
    He has 4 losing seasons at Pitt, which will be 5…of 5 season.
    And he had 2 losing seasons at OK of 5…..as soon as the inherited Griffin brothers left.

    Glad we won…..but this is insanity…and when we begin ACC play the announcers will
    not be so gracious…..(or delusional)

  36. Late night last night and didn’t see the end of the Pitt game after watching the 1st half.
    I read the POV before checking the final score and find out we win by 20+.

  37. I bailed out before the game finished because despite the score the level of Pitt’s play was depressing. FDU is no matter how I try to phrase it a very MEDIOCRE team. To be blunt about it they are lousy. Pitt did not show me anything last night. Yeah, shooting too many 3’s against a team with no defense, turnovers and more turnovers, poor ball handling and lack of attempts to drive to the basket against a smaller team, etc. etc. Pitt should have been able to put a team like FDU in foul trouble, but they kept attempting shots from the perimeter. Rebounding on offense and defense hard to judge because of the height differential and lackluster play. We have a game coming up with NC State and Capel and his ‘Great Coaching Staff” (The announcers must have been on drugs) will make our inept team a force in the ACC.
    So, we might be battling it out with BC and a terrible (so far) Louisville team for the right to claim last place in the Tobacco Road basement.

  38. Bernie – Pitt vs PSU used to be a Thanksgiving tradition and its a shame it isn’t any longer.

    I wonder if the CFB FBS team go to super conferences and Pitt gets left out – which could happen folks – maybe Pitt can schedule whomever they want as an independent program?

    Wouldn’t it be great to see WVU, Penn State, ND and Navy on the schedule every season?
