  49. Welp we are down 10-7 at the end of the first quarter. Our defense is getting punches in the mouth and besides a blown coverage our offense has looked as bad as ever. Also six penalties – four that were 100% on us.

    running backs. We have a very creative offense coach who belongs coaching at Slippery
    Rock. Yeah, I know it is very early in the game, however, we have seen this Sh-t show

    (Yeah, I recognize this comment is “captain obvious” material — and I’m sure plenty have commented similarly above. But this is expectable, and best to have it occur early today vs N.C. State.)

    At least KP has been taking some shots downfield. Would like to see more of that today.

    Our OL is awful. Our Defense thinks they are better than they are. They are all playing for the headlines and not team concept.

    on the 2 pass interference plays, if you look at williams on the td, he initiated contact first and got a push back at the end that caused spacing.

    The second one was illegal contact passed 10 yards. After the initial contact, nothing bad happened. The pass was way overthrown.

    Our DL looks terribly confused. They are all watching the qb jerk his arms and hard counting. Instead of reacting to movement by the OL they are responding to the qb and jumping off. They are selfishly fighting for headlines!

    No trap game with BC in the queue! Stop.

  135. 2nd 14 from to the goal and we run. Then we throw a pass well short of the end zone and may have got Addison hurt on the play. His right arm was hanging as he ran off the field.

  137. Agree that it was a tough hit to the head and pickett should sit for a series, but no. Nardingy not putting player safety first in my opinion. Slow the hit down and you will see a violent hit and snap of the head.

    Remember, the late hit had nothing to do with the awful pass. Pitt dodged a pick6 there and the throw was awful! Addison got set up for a big hit by a bad decision and throw. Pickett led him into a violent collision too. May have injured shoulder. At least we got points.

    Whipple is the issue, Pickett has issues but the kid is a gamer and has intestinal fortitude.

  169. NC State down multiple defensive backfield players and we continue to throw behind the line pass plays. Throwing short of the 1st down marker is the norm with Whipple.

    Pitt played petty much as bad a half of football as can be played and also took NC state’s best punch and is down by four points. All they need to do is play disciplined football in the second half and they have a solid shot to win

    2. I don’t see our defensive line taking control as it did in previous games. That’s the big difference. What discipline? Off sides and illegal procedure penalties dominate. And without the targeting call that ball was going to be intercepted as the NCS DB was laying and waiting for that throw.

  177. Pitt Administration and Legal Team may have a talk with Narduzzi after allowing Pickett to return after taking a clear shot to the head, trying to get up and then sitting because he couldn’t. Narduzzi will say neuro cleared him, but that will be for the first test only. Pickett must get tested at half. Will see if he returns. This isn’t about him being tough/ He has established that. This is about player safety. Lets see how this plays out.

    We all agree Whipple is a Moron. BUT the line stinks again and while Kenny is tough and supposedly has a cannon arm, he has an average QB brain, as many have pointed out. His decision making is slow and he’s panicky. Great enough athlete but the QB guru ha not made him any better than last year or the year before. That is the sad truth.

    The players and coaches were pissed about preseason disrespect and dropping in the rankings last week. This team never earned and doesn’t deserve respect. They do his every year and the voting press and coaches know it.

    Finally, the penalties. I said last week that this team under Duzz has no discipline. Never have. No discipline because no accountability. No accountability because no talent on offense behind you to take your job.

    All that said, NC State stinks and we should win the game. But let’s not believe we are anything but middle of the ACC with this offense.

  230. Here’s what I’m seeing. They are big and strong but not all that fast in the front 7. That’s why Pickett is able to pick up all these yards on the scrambles. Honestly I’m not sure I’d call another run but I’d let Pickett scramble as much as he wanted

  345. Again the announcers are clueless, referees are inconsistent, they didn’t play well on defense most of the game.

    Last drive they put no pressure on the QB.

    If Mack catches the ball it’s probably overtime.

    A decision on Narduzzi has to be made at the end of the season because his ceiling is 8 wins maximum.
