Pitt POV Golf Event

Hello everyone, if you haven’t been reading the comments there is another Pitt POV golf event in the works. Should be a great time with some great people! Open to anyone who reads the blog, regardless of commenting status.

  3. Well Fran, I won’t be able to golf but my bad knees are just a few of my handicaps. Oh boy I could go on and on…

    On a serious note, sure makes me feel good you boys are getting back together again and keeping the golf balls rolling. The POV is truly an amazing story.

    Nice to see Jay has commented. Be great to see him back full time.

  4. I still can’t see how hitting a little white ball and then going and chasing it is much fun. You can’t even trash talk the ball! I think ike and I are the smart ones for avoiding that little exercise in futility! (I could just imagine the fun in being paired up with Tex for 18 holes!).

    1. I would bring balls with the faces of heather and Narduzzi on them. I would shank heathers into the pond. I’d lose my Narduzzi ones in the woods.

      But the ones with riddicks face would all land within ten feet of the cup.

  6. Well Ed not to correct you but I use to golf. Two things… I wasn’t very good and I didn’t care. I never found a reason to take it serious so you’re right about that part. About part two, I just enjoyed the birds singing and the serenity being out on the course. I attribute that to not taking it seriously like I did for active hands on sports. I could never ever get over the fact that you couldn’t get a hole in one on every shot, although I tried. Like I mentioned, I could hit the ball a mile but too often it was a mile off course. and I mean literally off the course, sometimes out of the county. My warning wasn’t FORE, it was INCOMING!

    of the golf subject….read an article in the Trib this morning about Bell Vernon LB Cole Weightman who looks to be a stud according to his coach..6’4″ 215 lbs…hasn’t received a D1 offer yet but hearing from some big programs including Penn State but no mention of PITT……kinda stuff that bugs BigB….come on man!!!(Pat) get in the hunt…..

  8. I have never felt that Narduzzi gives enough recruiting attention to the LB position. Maybe he believes that LBs are simply DBs with an extra 20 pounds put on. But in any case, over his entire tenure I’ve felt he has neglected the LB position. I don’t think he averages more than one maybe two LBs in each class.

    1. Seems to me that Duzz likes those 200-pound backers from Florida. Speed, speed, speed! (Oops!).

      Trouble is, some of them haven’t gotten much bigger than 200 pounds…

  9. Zubovic is from Belle Vernon but they don’t get a lot of kids from down there. I guess Pat should tap in there or maybe there isn’t any interest from Weightman? Narduzzi doesn’t like to offer kids that he has no chance to get. Yes, I admit it, he can be goofy. But… if the kid is hell bent on going elsewhere than why waste resources? There are many stories and tales behind the scenes we really don’t know. Why I often defer.

    1. Sometimes the thinking is not to bring in a local kid unless you think he’s good enough to start. A local kid buried in the 2-deep can be awkward…

  10. Speaking of golf, if memory serves, I have had the pleasure of playing at golf outings with Lastrow, Erie Express, Richman, BigB, MissingWlat, Jay, Dan, and Tom (Fran’s cousin). Enjoyed every minute of it.

    Bummed out that I will miss the event this time…☹️

      1. BigB — Would have loved to have played a round of golf with Russ. Surprisingly, I was just referring to the POVers who I played in the same foursomes with. Certainly I’ve had the chance to play with an All-Star lineup of POVers.

OT: PSN has it that Ben DiNucci(7th round draft selection) has secured the #3 QB slot with the Dallas Cowboys this season as they have just released a QB that he was contending with for that spot.—-ON TOPIC: RUMOR mill on Paris Ford is hot & heavy the last couple of days. One has him kicked off the team and his locker cleared out. Another has it that his locker was restored today with all the equipment in place. PF is a very emotional guy having to deal with a very emotional head coach. That combination can be very explosive at any time.

    1. Right Richard, cargo shorts are a staple in my attire, that’s if I decide to wear any type of pants again? I can’t go to any food establishment because I refuse to wear socks and shoes. The bottom of my feet are like shoe leather and yes I take at least two showers a day mostly three. I have problems.

        1. Yeah, probably not a good vision in the back of your mind but I just don’t run around in my underwear, I always have bottoms on just not pants. Now you got me defending myself. Either some sort of sweat pants or I have four pair of these addias I switch out, I’m a clean freak. I’m a walking oxy-moron. Mostly likely bending more towards moron?

  15. FYI – The 3’rd string Crybabies QB that Ben DiNucci replaced was ex- Northwestern QG Clayton Thorson. He was the QB that Pitt faced in the 2016 Pinstripe Bowl loss.

    You guys that don’t like Narduzzi and I am not in love with him, just don’t realize what a players coach he is. Yeah that can be bad at times but that’s why PITT wins games they shouldn’t. When the tone rings obviously hollow……….. well there is no firing the boys of fall up.

  26. If you have not listened to the true FR WR Jordan Addison interview from this week, you have to find time to listen to it.

    He seems lyke a high character, well spoken young man who is excited to play for Pitt.

    He calls out KP as a “great leader”. I’m hoping that leadership translates to his QB play this season.

    I’m ready for the “Peay” jokes yo start hitting the comment section. I have a few I’m working on…
