  7. BC runs down hill which I think will wear down our defense especially if our O doesn’t start moving the ball.

Agree with Pman ……. big backs running downhill! To stop them, you need to hit em hard before they gain momentum. If they had a passing game, we’d be in trouble. I think inside the red zone will be a problem for bc….although i hope they don’t get there again.

Now, pitt always waits until i out out my first flame to “wake up”…so we will see. But, BC is horrible and this offense is horrible and the final score of the game doesn’t change that.

Anytime an underdog of 9 points plus gets into the 4th quarter with a good chance to win they will be more energized than ever.—-It’s very difficult to watch the Pitt offense move the ball and then have almost no chance for a TD when they reach the Red Zone.

I know Pitt won’t entertain Kiff, but we need an established HC – haven’t had one in almost 20 years.

Four turnovers, more penalties that are head scratchers and dropped passes are on the coaches. Sorry, but the trend for all 3 negatives started early in 2019 and the coaches never corrected the mistakes.

The D got trucked today. Kessman was the only bright spot with punting and FG’s.

  95. We know what Narduzzi and Heather will say. I could do the press conference and nail it.

I’m a 31 year season ticket holder and told my wife we are not renewing next year. We can go to 1 or 2 (or 5) games for $6 bucks. Not sure why I would continue to support this coach and Heather for the Big Lots merchandise.

Sad day for me after sitting through this for 30 years but I’ve had it. Objectively, I can’t continue this one-sided, abusive relationship any longer.

Hail to Pitt volleyball and wrestling!! I guess…

Will comment from the couch next year (except for the 2 games i will be on the 50 for $6) I guess.

  98. Well folks the 4 turnovers didn’t do us much good. The Pitt D was physically beat up by the 4th quarter. They were on the field much too long against a bruising pair of BC RB’s. Almost the same many teams faced last year against us with Hall and Ollison. —-It would have taken some guts by Bates but I would have switched to 5 down D lineman after they made the first 1st down on that last series. We were being manhandled at the point of attach and possibly an extra lineman may have gained control of the offensive line of BC before Dillion got up a head of steam.

  101. Football is a game of emotion. We had none. BC stole our will to compete and I said that eraly in the game. One stayed away from contact instead of fighting for extra yards. One rode piggy back style for two or three plays in a row. Emasculating in my book.

Emasculating – make someone or something weaker. Deprive a man of his role or identity.

Our DL was soft. Many thought it was our strength and it is when it comes to rushing the qb. This game didn’t require a pass rush. It required run stoppers and being a man. We didn’t play like men. We didn’t last week either. This game was lost before the VT game.

Pitt coaches are not respected and the players are not respected. The difference is that today”s pitt players are okay with being dis-respected. They do not play with an edge. They do not demand respect. Pitt is soft. Need a complete overhaul of the athletic department Gallagher.

Double sad that many of the old “negative posters” were ostracized for speaking the truth….again! 35 years of the biggest farce in pittsburgh sports, except for the pirates.

Why isn’t everyone yelling about the realist posters and how they all ran away? Seems the realists hit it straight. We don’t see things with our hearts. We see them with our eyes and our heads….sometimes on replay. It’s another push. We’ll get em next year. Our recruiting is getting better,,,,,yadda yadda!

Pitt will win its bowl game against a mac team, i hope.

  102. Every year under this coach it’s the same results pretty much. 7 or 8 wins. No final rankings. Little buzz or momentum carried over to the next season. Tough for a 4 star recruit to get excited.

Once season ticket holders stop renewing, maybe then heather will wake up. Once donations from big boosters stop, maybe then heather will wise up. Once the media starts taking shots at the programs direction, maybe heather will get her feelings hurt.

The solution is simple heather. Give me a call at 682-209-7602 and we can discuss my list of 5 replacement candidates for head coach. We can also talk about that feasibility study. You know quid pro quo.

But I take it you won’t be calling me since you were the one that made the decision to extend the Dog with Meatballs for brains in the first place.

This PITT team can’t get out of it’s own way to save their season. Unforced mistakes are way to routine and they “were” (past tense) not good enough all season to overcome such sloppy play by the players. By now, you would think the coaches would have straightened out this sort of crap play by the team? Lot’s of fault to go around by all…. I reiterate ALL. Players included! << mostly!

  108. I listened to Narduzzi’s pre-game interview and knew the game was lost. He just gushed over every player, about their leadership and character. Clearly he is in love with his players and there is no discipline and accountability on that team. No one sits when an error is made. So we have drops, missed tackles, turnovers and penalties up the wazoo. By the end of the season the inmates are running the assylum.

  111. Narduzzi, should he return needs to abandon his defense first philosophy. The best defense in today’s college game is a great offense. I’ve made this comment before but we need a lot more play makers on the offensive side.

As to the game, strangely, I would say Kenny Pickett played well in this game but the rest of his offense didn’t. Interestingly our best RB, V Carter was never in the game. Not sure if he was injured or what. AJ Davis doesn’t cut it, too slow and prone to fumbles. After 12 games on 2 pass plays, including the interception, the receivers ran wrong routes. As a whole we didn’t improve from the first to last game.

Hopefully we can win our bowl game but don’t count on it…..not the optimist this year anymore.

  116. I want to Pitt to win as much as anyone who posts here.

I consider myself a pessimist when it comes to this regime and the ones before it over the last 30 years.

But here is my only point to why I think it’s time to allow some leeway to the negativity here.

So many on the other side of the debate have labored on about the ridiculous OOC schedule. And how the record would be so much better.

Well guess what? 4 Losses came from conference teams this year. And as I have continuously stated…Pitt will always have one anchor team for season ticket renewals (PSU, Notre Dame, WVU, etc., etc.).

The point is the record would be the same regardless.

My real point is it doesn’t matter whose players it is, what the schedule is, how long the current administration has had to install its program…the results are the same.

So on to next year…where Pitt will have a super easy OOC. For those on the other side of the fence…if Pitt ends at 7-5 next year, will you finally concede this ain’t the guy, the program?

Certainly, a few ingredients are missing: a better O-Line, a downhill RB and I’m not sold on Whipple’s philosophy of passing to set up the run. But, I am well pleased with the development of the D and it appears we have a solid FG kicker.

  119. Not much to say. I thought Pitt would win by seven and it lost by that much.

I’m sure it has been written, but the turnovers were just killer. The first two were really bad and seem to set a tone despite the defense holding BC to two field goals. After that Pitt had a chance for seven points after being down 13-3 and a stupid rush up to the line for a QB sneak play call made no sense. Don’t the coaches know the receiver will have to be set? Maybe Matthews messed that up. Maybe Pickett was unaware his receiver needed to get set first? Who knows? Not that it would have mattered. BC after just punched Pitt’s defense in the mouth with the run the rest of the way.

Another killer was the secondary gave up completions four or five times on third down. Where was this blue chip secondary today? A 3rd and 9 and the BC QB makes a long throw to the sideline and Jackson is late getting there? Year five for Dane and I thought there would be some splash plays from him.

Today was real gut wrenching watching Whipple at work. This guy simply has no care to run the football. After a mistake bringing out the kickoff and having to go 96 yards for a TD, Pitt had a nice drive going and converted on third down with the pass (what else?) and then what? Passing again on first down and that led to an INT. Why won’t Whipple work in a running play now and then? BC is terrible against the run so why let it off the hook and continue to throw at will? Narduzzi sure messed up another OC hire it’s looking now.

I’m hoping for the worst bowl and easiest opponent to get eight wins and I just want this season to end. These last two weeks left a sour taste for sure. The excuses for Narduzzi are starting to run out. Then again, this administration hasn’t cared about winning since 1982 so why should we expect more? Keeping Canada and building a powerful offense would have shown true commitment, but the fans say no way can Pitt compete with the LSU’s of the world. OK, then keep the mediocre guy because seven wins is almost a lock in the regular season. Why change and risk getting worse? Agents aren’t ga-ga about their clients having to coach at Heinz, especially when that client is looking for his first Power 5 gig.

BC would be fools to fire Addazio with all the attrition he had this year. Good for them having powerful running backs and Pitt’s guys weigh 180 pounds soaking wet. Not that it matters with Whipple.

It started with a loss at home and ended the same. I think it would be great for us fans to see Capel’s team exceed expectations and make one of those play-in games though I think even the NIT is a long shot.

Need a coach with an offensive mind. Proven head coach. Somewhat familiar with ACC states. Comes from good coaching tree. Proven record of success and developing quarterbacks.

This is the problem. Us fans want better, crave for better but the jagoffs in charge don’t care.

The school is happy with 7-5 because there were no player arrests this season.

Still no excuse to not finish 8-4. From having the ball at PSU’s 1-yard line and missing a FG all the way to today and rushing to run a QB sneak only to not be set shows this staff, or Whipple, is stupid. The rushed play came after a TV timeout. Even worse.
