POV’s New Register / Login Procedures

This might help us POVers in winnowing down the crap commentership.  Here is how you both register and then log-on to become a bona fide “user“.  I’ve done the graphics for the “WordPress” registration but apparently you can use either your Twitter or Facebook login also.

Here is a Comments Box you’ll see:

Leave a comment

Click on either of the three icons in the lower right corner.  I used WordPress for mine as it keeps things separate but you can use Twitter or Facebook if you want. When you click on the WordPress icon you’ll see this:

Sign In

If you already have an account and weren’t using it you should just have to insert your email address or username then hit continue.  However, if you haven’t started on then click on “Sign Up” in the upper right hand corner.  When you do that you’ll see this:

Let's get started

Start filling that page out with your email. username and password… like this:

Pnardizzy

When you are finished with all that then hit “Continue” and you should bring up this page…

Done!

Obviously you’ll have to check and verify your email and such but that is how it registration happens.  One thing I don’t know is if you have to login each time or just once and it remembers – you guys can give me feedback on that.

This, in addition with more strict banning measures (no second chances either) should bring us back to what we had in 2016 when we all started the blog.

  3. Using WordPress, you get to create a Gravatar. I’ll be changing mine shortly in spirit of the upcoming home game…maybe a Ketchup bottle since the game is at Heinz?

  7. Reed is NOT going anywhere, he’s made changes to make the POV more fun for himself and less work/policing. Let’s keep the articles coming to help him out, especially while he continues to heal. I can tell you this, if you want to be on the POV, be civil. << oh and register, no more anonymous comments.

  17. Now since Pickett got to live his dream (play at Notre Dame), if he continues to struggle, you could see Boy George playing very shortly. I mean the offense couldn’t be much worst than the stats and your eyeballs say now.

  18. Pitt is tied or in the company of some of the worst teams and programs in many offensive categories.

    1st Downs @ Number 119, tied with San Jose State and Kansas
    1 notch above UTSA….as in Rock’n in the UTSA
    2 notch’s above winless UTEP (which is No. 1 in Both ESPN & CBSSports Bottom 10 rankings)

  20. i think it is way to early to give up on KP. He clearly has the tools and head to be a quality QB, but needs time to develop and an offensive line and receivers to help out.

    1. Teams sit QB’s all the time, it’s not giving up on him. What have you seen to clearly see he has the tools btw ? Cause not many D1 coaches saw them. I like the kid too, but that’s besides the point.

      This is one of the worst Pitt offenses since JM2(the only other one that rivaled this was when Bostick was played to early as a true freshman, after not even participating in August camp).

  26. Not ready to give up on KP either but if he struggles early on Saturday then Duzz should put Jeff Jr in to mix things up. This Saturday is a must win if these guys want a bowl.

  37. Retest with improvements. Pitt volleyball moved up to No. 5 in the polls this week. They also sent a new attendance record on Sunday. For the weekend matches they had over 4,000 people in total.

    Given the mess that is the Coastal Division in the ACC it does not look if even Pitt will not go win-less over the remaining games thus giving Narduzzi another year to show his less than mediocre coaching and recruiting skills.

  42. I think it may be time to give another QB a chance if KP continues to struggle…and he is struggling with decision making and deep throws. The OL play does not help, but there are plenty of times he has the time to make a play but holds the ball forever.

    On a different note, my daughter received her acceptance from Pitt today. Swanson School of Engineering. Fingers crossed. Pitt and Clemson have been running neck and neck. At least the Dairy College has been officially eliminated from further consideration.

  44. George has some P5 experience, whereas I don’t think Town does. Also, it makes sense since George has another year after this one, and could potentially give Pickett some competition for next year as well. I’m wondering if Narduzzi could use Pickett’s leg injury as an excuse to give George some playing time.

  48. It makes sense to give George some playing time against Duke this coming weekend. We have one of the worst offenses in the country so how bad could it be? George was not exactly a world beater at Illinois with more interceptions than TDs. I continue to believe Pickett is playing hurt. Hopefully he will get back to full health during the off season. The only reason he is still playing is that so far there has been no alternative at the position although we could go wildcat a lot more and turn into Georgia Tech north. I wonder if either Ollison or Hall can pass the ball?

    cbs sports has pitt in a bowl as indicated above. However, the details suggested we would be one of five or six teams to get a bowl invite at 5-7. That is embarrassing. There are 76 bowl slots to fill. I take that as meaning we would be ranked at about 70th out of 130. Coach is paid at 42 or so, therefore it is an under-performance.

    I am starting to think there is something else going on with Paris Ford. Pure guess on my part but the new moniker hasn’t been wrong yet.

  67. Does anyone have any idea the capacity of the Fitzgerald Field House? Planning to go to the Vball vs Duke in a couple of Sundays and wondered if I needed to order tix or could walk up for them.

    1. Mark, capacity can’t be much more than what was listed for attendance for Louisville match. There were seats open at the Louisville game, but not many. We just walked up for them, but got to the match about 45 minutes early.

  75. .When I was setting up the examples above I had to try 5 or 6 different user names before it found one that wasn’t taken.

    Remember this is now putting you in with millions of WordPress registered users…so some will have to use different names than in the past…

  98. Fellow POVers, including BigB: If you are having trouble getting your avatar onto your cell phone, I suggest you download the WordPress app (from the iphone store for OS) and then log in there. If you had an avatar acct. on a pc it should show up when you log in using the app. Also, be sure to log out and then log back in to pick up the changes.

  103. I would like to see George start on Saturday, or at least get some playing time to look at his arm and control of the offense. Face it, Pitt can’t do worse in te passing game. I’d declare that the position is open and then play both QBs over the rest of the year.

You may have current readers but current non commenters or even new readers who a month / 6 months / a year from now may want to comment.   111. I really don’t think anyone is advocating the benching of KP but thinking maybe some time on the bench during a game if he is struggling may do him some good? It’s a shame this weeks game will be played in the muck much like Walter Sobchak had to way back in Nam.
