Here we go. First talking point is Jason White being featured on ESPN’s Big Man Back to Campus TV.

Discuss.

I’m rooting for the Dawgs big-time because they have waited almost as long as Pitt for another national title.

  3. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz…… Time for the Real Housewives of New Jersey. Only saving grace is that I don’t have to hear Tony Romo do college games. I was ready to put a gun into my mouth listening to him babble this weekend.

      1. Mark: He knows his stuff, but he never shuts up. Most casual football fans don’t want him calling the play out before the snap. Nor do they know, or care to know, what Cover 2 is versus Cover 4. He needs to tone it down.

    1. If you believe Pitt fans he have won the Heisman and been a #1 draft pick. Of course he would have had Sunseri, Savage and Voytik throwing to him here. That is he left in three years which, again, everyone was projecting him to do.

    1. Isn’t Sunseri’s story a strange one? He was actually a much better passer than fans give him credit for but he crumbled under any sort of sustained pressure.

  7. No matter how fast Foster (who?) is, Tino wouldn’t have completed any deep passes to him.

  10. I blame Wanny for Tino. The kid was tough. But he was a safety playing QB. No 4th Q comebacks EVER. And I remember that WVU game when sack after sack his O-line didnt even bother to lend a hand to help him up. The little things like that tell me he wasnt a good locker room presence…I’ll leave it at that.

  11. Remember when we had OCJC on our sideline ? Short side Toss sweeps to Ollie and going with the pass instead of over whelming the Tarheels and their weak run D with our potent running attack on a Thursday night game at Heinz when I think we were 5-1 … that’s the night Duzz chewed out his ass on national TV. Funny how things work out.

  14. Wonders, get a good coach, get good recruits, get good qb. MR is the most overrated coach in the conference. Good reason UGA dumped him.
After watching Georgia this year I’m firmly convinced a freshman should never start at qb. Ya, just not ready. Can’t do it.

LOL Reed. Freshmen? Who needs them.
I accidentally broke the swearing rule, and my post got removed. So I will repeat, Tony Romo is the worst announcer in the history of announcing. He never shuts up. He calls out 90 percent of the plays before they are run. He always has to be right. Do I really care if the defense is in cover 2 versus cover 4? No. Nor do 95 percent of viewers. No thanks.

I saw some talk about Tino — how many stars was he rated by the recruiting services? I’m sure at least a three star. The recruiting services can’t predict how a player is going to perform with the game on the line. They care more about height and weight, 40 times, and offer lists.

  37. I don’t think Chaney played not to lose. I think his OL was gassed and they could not handle the very deep Bama defensive line. That QB had a high likelihood of being sacked every time he dropped back for the last 10 minutes of the game. He ran the plays his players could still run.

  40. Agreed WLAT, but candidly, he didn’t have much of a choice. Their starting qb’s skill set wasn’t working against the sturdy georgia defense. QB’s and athletes in general don’t always have their best stuff and sometimes don’t just match up against certain defenders.

Our coach had a chance to do this in game 5,6,7,8, 9, 10,etc. If a QB or any player joins the team in January of 2017 as an early enrollee, by the time January of 18 comes around, they have 12 months in the system. At this point they are a sophomore or a RS Frosh.

I liked the Tua QB. He made a big mistake and then hit the powerball. I just had something hit me and it didn’t come from mrs. huff. Foster reminds me of ……Randy Moss. When he is in the play, he busts his tail. When he is not in the play, his first couple steps are weak. He still ends up in nfl because of his 4.3 speed, not because of his catching prowess at alabammer.

  46. Saban really had nothing to lose playing that guy. He had a month to prepare him.

Obviously you can play freshmen, when they are the best of the best and they are surrounded by the best of the best. His first run, when he broke tackles, and got the first down was the play of the game and there were many.

Saban is a great coach because he recruits the best players.

Just saying, but those guys all look like they are on steroids. When a guy punches an opponent, then wants to fight a coach, then nearly decapitates a player, it makes you wonder.

The game also reminded me of tOSU’s championship with Cardale Jones. Great teams are very deep.

When I brought my wife to PGH for the first time back in 1981 people were asking her ridiculous questions like “Does Honolulu have electricity?”… Of course Honolulu was as big a city as PGH but it was so obvious many people had no idea of geography and how other people lived.

It appears that Pickett might not have been able to play right out of camp, but obviously could once he went in for that one play against SYR in the 6th game. We lost three of those last 6 games; one by 6 points and one by 3 points.

And of course that SYR game by 3 also.

    1. BTW …. my comparison of Tino’s stats vs Kerry Collins stats was not a promotion for Tino for the college FB HOF … it was to point out that Collins has no business being inducted. Only a school like PSU would be able to get someone like him elected.

It reminds me of Kiss in the R&R HOF.

    1. I seriously doubt that every QB who led teams to undefeated seasons are in the HOF. But even so … in the 1994 undefeated season, Collins threw for 2679 yards with 21 TD and 7 Int. In Tino’s Sr season, 3288,, 21 and 3.

Collins also handed the ball off to Kijana Carter 198 times for 1538 yards … and I will guarantee PSU had a much better defense than what Pitt had in 2012
