    1. Since it’s a Saturday afternoon game on a holiday weekend, I’d take the over. The O/U should be more like 6K since it’s an ACC game.

  1. TCU beating OU. Way to Go Hearman. No one making excuses for Dixon and not playing with “His” guys.

  2. Talking about attendance (or lack thereof) I posted several pics of half empty Bowl Games from yesterday and today on the previous. Most of the Bowls are posting all-time attendance LOWS.

32,000 announced at the Belk Bowl, even with a local team, Wake in it.

    1. Guy here on Seattle ESPN sports radio was asked by John Clayton on his radio show about the dismal attendance numbers.

His response was, “It really doesn’t matter much John as long as the mouse pays money for holiday programming.”

      I think is pretty spot-on.

    1. It’s ESPN, they don’t care if no one shows up. They’ll just use very low tight angle camera views to hide all the empty seats. While they aren’t attended well, apparently the TV ratings aren’t bad. Since it’s Live TV.

  3. The ACC sucked this year and Pitt still only won 5 games. We would have gotten blown out as well in a crappy bowl.

    1. BC was out playing Iowa who beat OSU and should have beaten the pedos. They lost on 2 big turnovers. L’Ville would have killed Miss. St.

Pitt always loses bowl games, but with Pickett against a bad team I think we win.

      1. Obviously can’t count on rankings. Pitt’s defense played PSU better in the first half at Happy Valley.

Pac 12 being humiliated in bowl games.

    1. That was my prediction too. The PAC won’t win one bowl game. They stink. They might have 1-2 teams who would beat Pitt.

  4. Zero coaching. Little to no basketball accumen with these players. Can’t watch anymore of this. Back to Wash/PSU

  5. This is what happens in the ACC when you play all freshman. These kids aren’t one and dones. Jamie left an empty locker room.

It is actually much better than I expected.

    1. Getting a close-up of the good crowd, great athletes, 31% shooting and 19 point output? Which baseline are you on today and what colors are you wearing?

Stallings chose to clear the locker room. He also chose not to replace Dixon’s last class or use an open scholarship last year. Stallings is the coach, paid millions per year, and is accountable.

Wilson-Frame is a junior BTW. He’s also 2-8 with 1 rebound, 1 assist and 1 turnover. A real athlete who is nearing 37% shooting for the season.

      1. How many Juco players are ready for the ACC?Especially when playing with freshmen, who aren’t the elite guys who go to Duke, UNC etc.

        Think your expectations are unreal.

There are three centers on this team with more potential than anyone since Adams.

  6. Pitt 8 of 26 fg’s. 30%. Last couple minutes when Miami decided to play, we even had a difficult time even taking a shot. This team has little to no talent. Yea they will hang when other teams are disinterested. We use to do that with teams we knew we could beat.

  7. Typical Stallings team. If they hit the threes they are in every game if not….blow out !
Miami half court defense Way too tough for Pitt. May be one of the best in the country. Only hope Pitt has is to get out in transition..

  9. Naw, Just reality. Certain schools put effort and money into sports, others are fodder. Power schools need sheep, that’s us. Rich mans war, poor mans fight. We are the fodder. It sucks, but that’s the truth. We will win one of ten vs Nitters.
Been watching b-ball game. Reminds me of a early d1 vs d2 matchup. No real danger for the d1 school, play loose, game score looks good, but they are just going thru the motions.
And please, if I hear one more “Luther isn’t playing I’m gonna go nuts. It’s a sad State when he is your star. Truth be known, he is slow footed, gets a lot of garbage points, and may have they least amount of lateral quickness I’ve seen. He’s a decent A10 type player( which is better than Pitt team as a whole) but when he is your star your hurting.

      1. And yet he led Pitt in scoring 2 years ago (as a sophomore) in a 7 point home loss to Louisville, outplaying Onuaku (who now plays for the Houston Rockets). He was second in scoring in Pitt’s first round victory over Syracuse in the ACC tournament that same season. Perhaps he’s taken major steps backward as a senior. I suppose it could happen considering the coaching change.

  15. QB stays. Barkley, Gesicki and WR Hamilton are out. They do have deficiencies against the run blitz.

Defensively, they have a good DL. Offensively, they have a very good line.

Not sure they are better than osu, michigan or msu….next year.

They get confident against an easy OOC schedule and a weak big10 schedule except for 3 games. That is how you schedule to help your team win and get confidence. In the tough games, if you 50-50, your team gets to a great bowl.

  16. Oh, and our bball team is not good.

Funny thing about sports is that you can turn it all around with a couple big time recruits. Unfortunately you need a head coach that has “it” to get them. Or an AD with an executable plan.

  18. That interception that Washington had early that was ruled in the pedos favor and the pedos wind up scoring was the game difference. I’m starting to hate the replay. Too easy for Vegas mob to get to these guys in the office….like Al Riveron in the NFL.

    1. Kind of a similar situation in the Wisky-Miami game on Wisky’s first drive. It was not called a fumble o on the field yet they ruled a fumble on the replay. Meanwhile the ESPN expert said it would not be ruled a fumble.

Also, was there a better qb in any of the bowl games than McSorely? That kid is a winner. Hope KP can be the same type of player.

The ACC Coastal went 1-3 in bowl games with the lone victory coming against the third place team in the MAC West. Pitt tied for fourth in the Coastal.

Pretty AMAZING for a Guy who according to many here couldn’t speak, dress or recruit… let alone coach football.

    1. Slow Down, He beat a weak Miami Team with no talent at QB. He couldnt dress and still can’t. Did you see him tonight? He still can’t speak. His after game interview was atrocious. He can coach and could coach at Pitt but was given zero tools by the Atheltics Dept. the problem is not the coaches then but the support. On the other hand now we have 2 bad coaches and still no support.

  31. That is the truth right there. We will not have a successful coach until we have an AD that demands more from its BoT. The problem is that our current AD makes more than she has ever made and does not want to upset her gravy train.

She will not go to the BoT and tell them what she needs to succeed and when they tell her NO, she turtles. She needs to say “This is what I need”. You either give that to me and expect results or you have the wrong person”. Only a confident AD does that. That is why Tressel had no shot at the job. It wasn’t about his issue at OSU. It was all because he brought swagger and truth at the same time which is too much for any of our BoT members, let alone, Chancellor. Getting exposed is never a good thing for a BoT member. Tressel would do that as AD. A few other AD’s would do that as well. Not our current one and not our last 5.

Actually, Miami isn’t terrible. Richt should never call plays. He went away from what was most successful. He should hire Canada. Also, their QB is a problem. I do like their true FR WR. Speed and more speed!

  32. In today’s comments, several references to McKees Rocks, including:
“…and then gets to Silkey’s in McKeesrocks.” and “By the way, the Rocks used to have a lot better places to hang out, anyone remember the Go-Go lounge or the Psychedilli? Mancinis’. ”

I grew up in McKees Rocks “bottoms” (1956 to 1973) through college and grad school, but haven’t been back in 25 yrs except for a drive-by in ’07. Can someone tell me what Silkey’s is? or where the Psychedilli was? I do recall Mancini’s Lounge and definitely the Go-Go lounge where I learned to slow-slip a $2 beer in the 60’s so I could watch more dancers on my Pitt student budget. (BTW, being 6′ 6″ tall, I was able to get into the GoGo when I was 16.) Used to be a not-so-bad low rent community with a strong Eastern European population and actually had a really nice Boy’s Club in the Bottoms where kids could safely play, learn basketball skills, and play pool, ping-pong, and board games with supervision by great staff and volunteers.
