  1. Busy as hell. If you are over 60 and have no lower back…

Do not move heavy furniture, vacuum two floors of carpets and push a rented steam cleaner around from 10:am until midnight.

I almost literally can’t move today and I still have to lug the damn thing back.

  2. DK sports also has a free subscription for vets (provided by donors) that I qualified for. Enjoyed it so much at the end of the free year I opted to pay for a 3 year subscription.

  3. Ike, message boards are totally anonymous and thier readers don’t meet and know each other so they snipe a lot…which is why you and I are on here.

I read them sometimes but rarely post.

It does seem that the personal negatives from there started when I started on the Blather though…

If anyone cares to read the “Crap on Reed & The POV” thread here it is… Funny but two of the biggest complainers were regular commenters at one time.

  5. My take on the contract extension? Not a bad idea on Pitt’s part as it gives us stability.

Not sure how much of a pay raise he should get though.

A 5-7 season with no bowl and two previous bowl losses do not point toward Sterling coaching.

I’m also not sure what an extension actually does for recruiting either. He had that first extension and our recruiting is average at best now.

Many times it is the school itself kids sign on to and not necessarily the HC.

If we do get more $$$ for staff…hire a decent DC Dammit.

  7. Reed, good post on the Lair. Might I suggest nice massage to ease the aches and pains? As an incentive and reward to myself for seriously working out and getting back in shape I bought myself a monthly massage at a local place. Totally worth it- I highly recommend it to anyone who overdoes it- decorating the Christmas tree, hanging the lights, whatever. Heck, treat yourself- You are worth it! And the old body just doesn’t spring back like it did 20 years ago….

  8. Historical factoid for Pitt fans from an article that appeared 45 years ago in the Pittsburgh Press: Homer Rice, the AD at North Carolina, is considered the leading candidate to replace Carl Depasqua as Pitt’s FB Coach. Iowa State ‘s Johnny Majors has not indicated whether he would be interested if offered the job…

    Go Pitt.

  9. signing the extension probably makes the most sense from the Pitt administration’s perspective after a 5-7 season. Imagine if we were 10-2, or even 8-4 again — how much more would it cost to sign Narduzzi to the extension? Nobody is after our coordinators this year. How much more would Pitt have had to spend to up the money for the assistant pool after a good year? At the present, Pitt doesn’t have the money to spend huge. Hopefully we can find a donor or two with really deep pockets that can change that.
